Clanton Park-Roseland is known for its remodeled midcentury homes and desirable location. Residents here live as close to Charlotte ’s booming South End as they do to the airport, making the community a growing choice for Uptown professionals who want to be a short distance from work, their upcoming flight and lively happy hour spots. Separated from all the action on South Boulevard by Interstate 77, the neighborhood feels quiet and secluded with plenty of mature trees. But you don’t have to sacrifice connectivity with access to city buses and the LYNX Blue Line.
Clanton Park is only a few miles outside the Uptown Charlotte area and even closer to LoSo.

Original ranch-style homes and split-levels mix with newer builds
Midcentury charm lines the tree-shaded streets of Clanton Park-Roseland, where you’ll find mostly ranch-style homes and split-levels from the 1940s through the 1960s. Some sit modestly in their original designs, and others have been renovated inside and out. Many of these original homes offer spacious yards that can exceed a third of an acre. Along Crestridge Drive and Brianna Way, there is a mix of Colonial Revivals and two-story traditional homes from the early 2000s resting on smaller tract-style lots. With a large apartment complex and rental homes sprinkled throughout, the neighborhood is home to more renters than homeowners.

Single-family homes for less than the Charlotte median
The neighborhood’s median sale price is around $350,000, well below Charlotte’s median and significantly below that of neighboring Southside Park and York Road, which are on the other side of Interstate 77. Home prices start at the lower $200,000s and can reach the upper $400,000s. “South End is priced higher, but Clanton Park-Roseland has become more attractive because buyers can get more home for their money,” says Bre Gaither, the owner of BG Luxe Realty, who grew up in the neighborhood. “It’s cool to see it grow. Homes used to sell for less than $100,000. I currently hold the record for the highest one at $475,000.”
Easy commutes to Uptown, South End and Lower South End
Clanton-Park Roseland is less than 5 miles from Uptown. The drive north along Interstate 77 takes 10 to 15 minutes. The neighborhood is even closer to the Lower South End (LoSo) and South End, both under 3 miles away. Alternatively, commuters can catch a CATS bus along Clanton Road or park their cars at Scaleybark Station to ride the LYNX Blue Line light rail train. “I used to work for Bank of America. I drove to the train station and got on the train. It was much easier than fighting through traffic. It was much quicker and more convenient,” Gaither says. Charlotte Douglas International Airport is about 6 miles away.
