Why Moores Chapel is attracting homebuyers and homebuilders

Moores Chapel is shifting from its rural roots into a growing suburban neighborhood. The community, bounded to the west by the Catawba River, feels tucked away, but its highway access makes it appealing to commuters seeking a quiet atmosphere. With some of the last undeveloped land along the Queen City’s outskirts, Moores Chapel is a hotspot for development. New subdivisions are rising alongside established homes. Everyday needs are easily met with a wide range of shops, restaurants and services just a short drive away, and families enjoy being close to public magnet schools and the U.S. National Whitewater Center.

A growing neighborhood mixing midcentury homes and new construction

While much of the Charlotte area is developed, Moores Chapel still has swaths of untouched land, giving it a more rural, secluded feel. Along two-lane country roads, buyers will find midcentury ranch-style homes on sprawling lots that back up to woods, as well as manufactured homes. There are also traditional subdivisions of townhouses, 21st-century transitional homes and Craftsman-inspired new construction. “This is an emerging area,” says Trevor Hall, a Realtor with Helen Adams Realty. “You have a lot of great neighborhoods here where you’re going to see a lot of value… The area will continue growing because Charlotte is running out of room.”
