Yorkmount is has many streets lined with dense old growth vegetation.
A lush and verdant community
Removed from the rapid development of bustling South Boulevard, Yorkmount is an established neighborhood that maintains a peaceful setting. Sugar Creek estuaries, a meandering tributary of the Catawba River, run through the Yorkmount neighborhood feeding a lush natural environment with tree canopies and grassy yards. There are no sidewalks on Yorkmount’s narrow streets.
Suburb offers many architectural styles
The Yorkmount suburb features older ranch-style and Colonial revival homes mixed with newer contemporary styles. Some residences don a splash of fresh paint and updates, while others showcase sturdy midcentury roots. Home prices range from $216,000 to $415,000, and buyers will find backyards that vary in size between .2 and .4 acres, enough room for a small garden or gathering area. With relatively low prices for a suburb so close to Charlotte’s center city, a growing demand and an influx of buyers drive an increasingly competitive market. "Many homes receive multiple offers, and most sell at or above the listing price within a month," says Dana Marchand at Allen Tate Realtors, who has been representing North Carolina and South Carolina markets since 2003.

I am a home owner and have lived in this area for 46 years and have seen all the growth of new residences but it is still relatively quiet and peaceful. It is easy to commute because of all of the infrastructure of interstates around us. The overall cost is still reasonable.
