In City Center, condominiums can be found in vintage brownstones that have been completely renovated for modern luxury. Marble lobby floors, huge windows and exposed brick are just some of the beautiful interior designs you can find. Units are also available in historic homes – built as early as the late 1800s – on the outskirts of the area, so you can live in a Victorian style with ornate detailing and columned porches. Condos account for most owner-occupied space, considering the urban layout of the area. While you may not be getting a ton of acreage as you may near the mountain, these homes aren’t far from any green space and great views. It’s one of the most walkable areas in Chattanooga, and you can easily stroll to the riverside to enjoy its wonderful lookouts and parks. The median selling price for downtown properties is around $385,000 and $410,000 and homes don’t stay on the market long. It’s a very desirable area, with properties staying on the market for a month or less, often getting multiple bids.

Some of the top schools in Tennessee
When it comes to schooling, you can find a mixture of public, private and charter schools around the area. Battle Academy for Teaching & Learning is a public elementary that’s noted as having above-average test scores and extensive art programs. Though non-traditional, Chattanooga School for the Arts & Science is one of the only schools in Hamilton County to serve kindergarten through 12th grade, so children are supported by the same institution for the entirety of their education. CSAS is highly renowned and boasts top-percentile Tennessee graduation rates and college admissions.

Community Pie in City Center
City Center doesn’t have much green space – Miller Park is more open field than structure – but there are plenty of beautiful parks nearby. Not to write Miller Park off, of course. "If you love music, there's something called Nightfall over at Miller Park. They do a free concert series every spring and summer on Friday evenings, and Community Pie is right near there. Great pizza for when you're hungry after the concert," Junior Francica, a Realtor with eXp Realty, says. If you head a couple of minutes north to the bluffs, you can relax at the lookout points of the river and check out the River Gallery Sculpture Park. Set on two acres beside the Hunter Museum of American Art, the river garden has beautiful flora, a meditation area and internationally crafted sculptures. You can walk or bike down the pedestrian path past Ross’s Landing and find the Riverfront Playground and plenty of green areas around the water for picnicking or playing yard games.

Local shops and unique eateries
All around the area, daily stops are abundant. There are local grocery markets, pharmacies, banking spots and gyms. Over at Warehouse Row are popular retailers such as J. Crew and Madewell along with some seriously good restaurants. To be fair, you can find amazing restaurants on basically every street in downtown, so the options are endless. Visit the historic and iconic Pickle Barrel for comforting pub food, grab a hot slice and pistachio gelato at Community Pie or try a craft cocktail at Unknown Caller.
