Murray Hills
Easy commuting to nearby job opportunities
Murray Hills is mostly car-dependent with Highway 58 located just south of the neighborhood homes. For job opportunities, an industrial park is 3 miles east with companies like Volkswagen and Amazon, and downtown Chattanooga is 7 miles west. The Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport is 3 miles south and takes about 10 minutes by car.Mid-20th-century homes and new craftsman styles
Homes here are congregated along traditional suburban gridded streets with cul-de-sacs. Murray Hills features mid-20th-century homes and new craftsman-style properties built within the last five years. For vehicle parking, houses have driveways, and some styles include multi-car garages. These properties don’t stay on the market long, usually selling after just two weeks. Homes in Murray Hills typically sell for between $250,000 to $500,000.Hamilton County Schools and Chattanooga State Community College
Hamilton County Schools serves the neighborhood’s students. Kids may start at Harrison Elementary School, which has a C-plus rating from Niche, before transitioning to Brown Middle School, which earns a B-minus. Students may then attend Central High School, which gets a C-plus grade and serves as The Institute of Advanced Manufacturing and Mechatronics for the school district. The Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts is an additional Kindergarten to eighth-grade public school option offered by Hamilton County. Chattanooga State Community College’s main campus is also in Murray Hills, located along the shores of the Tennessee River.Chickamauga Lake, Tennessee Riverpark and Murray Hills Park
Chickamauga Lake borders the neighborhood and provides plenty of opportunities for boating, fishing and swimming. “Even if you don’t have direct access to the lake from your property, it’s just a short drive away,” says Casteel. Tennessee Riverpark is a 150-acre urban greenway with 13 miles of trails along the Tennessee River. The regional park also offers fishing piers, boat launches, art installations and a playground. The Chickamauga Dam Day Use Area is another nearby park with fishing opportunities, a playground, a boat launch and a paved walking path. Murray Hills Park is a small greenspace with a playground, picnic tables and a walking path. Booker T. Washington State Park is another large municipal park just north of Murray Hills along the Chickamauga Reservoir. This 353-acre park has eight miles of interconnected trails, fishing piers, a public swimming pool and multiple playgrounds.Lake Hills Shopping Center and local businesses
Lake Hills Shopping Center is the closest retailer hub and has a Food City, a United Grocery Outlet and a Walgreens Pharmacy. Linda’s Produce is a popular local grocery store off State Highway 58 that’s been selling farm fresh fruits and veggies in Chattanooga since 1992. There are also popular local restaurants in Murray Hills like Portobello's, a family-owned eatery with Italian dishes, and Ankar's Hoagies, which has been serving sandwiches here for over 40 years.
