You can find a mix of housing styles in Stuart Heights-Rivermont, from midcentury ranch-style homes to large New Traditional houses and contemporary builds. “We now have a blend of old and new, but Stuart Heights has been a very established neighborhood, and very attractive to people who want to be close to downtown,” says Marie King, a Realtor at Keller Williams with 26 years of experience. With a median sale price in the lower $400,000s, the neighborhood is generally more affordable than those closer to downtown; North Chattanooga’s is in the lower $600,000s. Prices often depend on the size of the home, with those under 3,000 square feet typically costing between the lower $200,000s and the mid-$600,000s. Multiple parks in the area make it easy to enjoy the outdoors. Rivermont Park is a large green space on the riverbank with several softball fields, playgrounds and a boat ramp. The Champions Club, next to the park, is the city’s flagship facility for tennis, with 26 courts, a clubhouse and a pro shop. The courts are open to the public, and allow both walk-ups and reservations. Nearby White Oak Park is a smaller spot with playgrounds, picnic shelters and a dog park. It also has a connector trail that leads to Stringer’s Ridge, a 92-acre forested area with miles of hiking and biking trails.
