Residences between nature’s playground and the DTC
Cherry Creek is a residential city between natural and commercial spaces south of Denver. The area’s namesake state park sits to the north and offers natural playgrounds, adding to the recreational opportunities provided at neighborhood parks. The hum of airplane engines and the whirl of helicopter rotors can be heard from subdivisions woven through Cherry Creek’s southern region as charter flights and air ambulances come and go from Centennial Airport. “A lot of the draw for this area is the Cherry Creek [School District] system,” says Tracy Cole, a broker with LIV Sotheby’s International Realty who has over four decades of experience. Her husband, broker Todd Cole with Sotheby’s International, adds, “Another draw is the location because it’s near the Denver Technology Center (DTC), where they have a lot of office complexes and restaurants. It’s like a gateway, so you’re still in the suburbs, so it's not as congested, but it has great activities, and you can go to downtown Denver.”

Excelling in Cherry Creek School District
Ranked the No. 1 best school district in the Denver area by Niche, the Cherry Creek School District serves the region. The district earns an A grade overall and has a total of 67 schools. “They’ve got International Baccalaureate programs, so the college prep is great there, and as far as the education, they’ve ranked as the highest for quite a few years,” the Coles say. “People tend to brag that they went there as a public school.” In addition to its elementary, middle and high schools, Cherry Creek has an innovation campus for 10th through 12th grade students and two charter schools encompassing kindergarten through eighth grade. Cherry Creek Innovation Campus offers seven instructional pathways, including criminal justice and IT & STEAM.

Commutes to the DTC and Anschutz Medical Campus
Arapahoe Road runs west and east through southern Cherry Creek, connecting it to Interstate 25. This major interstate ties the region to the Denver Tech Center, about 3 miles away, and downtown Denver, about 15 miles north. The DTC includes major communications employers and Fortune 500 companies. Interstate 225 is also nearby and connects the community with Aurora, a city centered around medical employers, such as those at the Anschutz Medical Campus, about 13 miles away. The nation’s third-busiest airport, Denver International Airport (DEN), has flights to both domestic and international cities and is almost a 30-mile drive on I-225. The Regional Transportation District Light Rail serves Cherry Creek with the E Line to Union Station downtown and the R Line to the Aurora Metro Center Station.

Restaurants vary from casual brunch cafes to European-inspired bistros and Japanese steakhouses. Entertainment, like most shopping and dining, occurs outside Cherry Creek. Fiddler’s Green Amphitheater is an outdoor concert venue with grassy hills and seating for up to 17,000, which can sell out when touring musicians come to town.
