About Chubbuck, ID

Chubbuck on the rise

Set at the foot of the Rocky Mountains in southeastern Idaho, Chubbuck stands as a modest little city. It also works with Pocatello, its sister city to the south, to form a full-bodied regional hub that takes care of residents' shopping, dining, transportation and educational needs. “We live in a blue-collar town, a college town and we get all four seasons. We also have so many places for activities like camping and fishing within 20 to 30 minutes away," says Marek Davis, a Realtor with exP Realty who was born and raised in the area. "Everyone typically knows everyone here, and I'd say it's pretty safe compared to some of the bigger cities. At the moment, we don’t have many big employers, but we’re going to start expanding as our population grows. There’s a lot happening in our area and there's more to come."

Ranch-styles are popular in Chubbuck

The median price of a home in Chubbuck is $414,900, and manufactured homes, townhomes and ranch-style houses are all common sights on residential streets. "Chubbuck really started developing in the mid to late 70s, and that’s when they started building more ranch-styles with your typical three-bed, one-bath and a family room in the basement. A common floor plan I see is 1,100 square feet, with 1,100 in the basement and a double-car garage. A lot of these houses also have yards and tend to be on point-two to quarter-acre lots," Davis says. A property will typically sit on the market for 52 days before selling.
