Cincinnati slows down in the West Side suburb of Cotillion Village

Cincinnati's bustling city life slows down in Cotillion Village, a community characterized by custom homes, well-maintained lawns and tree-lined streets. Between Delhi and the Sayler Park neighborhood, this suburb has a spacious feel with newer architecture on gradual terrain and spacious lots on the edge of a midwestern metro. About 10 miles west of downtown, this is one of many neighborhoods on the West Side with a remarkable reputation for its close-knit community and neighborly atmosphere. "The West Side is the weirdest place you've ever seen. Everyone knows everybody. If they don't know you, they went to school with your relatives," says Roy Webb, an area local and real estate agent at RealTown Realty LLC. "I can't believe they haven't done a TV show on it. I've never seen anything like it."

Eclectic architecture on spacious suburban lots

Mature trees shade the neatly trimmed lawns, which have eclectic architectural styles. Cotillion Village features New Traditional and Tudor-style homes. Many houses are custom-built on lots nearing half an acre in size. Single-family home prices range from $100,000 to $800,000. Condos cost between $150,000 and $250,000 in areas like the Oak Tree Condominiums Subdivision. Webb says this area is experiencing rapid growth due to recent development. "This is a really old part of Cincinnati, but it's growing fast. They're building everywhere on this side of town, and it's more affordable."

Some properties may be at risk of flooding damage as they are in proximity to the creeks along Bender Road and Rapid Run Road. The CAP Index Crime Score in Cotillion Village is 2 out of 10, lower when compared to the national average of 4.
