More and more businesses are coming in and the whole area is growing.” Clarcona is serviced by Central Florida’s LYNX public bus lines, providing an accessible public transportation option that connects throughout the greater Orlando area. Locals who commute by car can hop on the nearby Apopka Expressway to connect to Interstate 4 and land in downtown Orlando within a half-hour.

Orange County public schools have plenty to offer
Students in Clarcona attend school in the Orange County Public Schools district. At Prairie Lake Elementary School, kids can choose from 20 clubs and organizations, including arts and technology. Piedmont Lakes Middle School provides a morning STEAM program for students. Wekiva High offers over 50 clubs, including aquaponics, hip hop and Girls Who CODE. All three of these schools receive overall grades of B-minus from Niche.

Equestrians are drawn to the area for the Clarcona Horse Park. This public facility features show rings with bleacher seating, judging towers and horse stalls. Visitors can enjoy horseback riding on the trail, followed by a night under the stars at the campground. This park also connects to the West Orange Trail, which offers more than 20 miles of pathways from Oakland to Apopka. When in the mood for a bit of nature, locals can head to nearby Magnolia Park. Sitting along the shores of Lake Apopka, this green space has boat ramps and fishing docks. Visitors can dive into nature, take in scenic views and search for wildlife along a hiking trail. The park also has a butterfly garden and basketball and volleyball courts. Wekiwa Springs State Park, the longest-running tourist attraction in Orange County, is a short drive away.
