Single-family and multi-family Claremont homes
While most homes were built between the late 1800s and the early 1900s, homebuyers can occasionally find a few houses dating back to the 1700s. Common housing styles include Workers Cottages, ranch-styles, cottages, bungalows and New England-style homes, many of which are around 1,500 square feet. Listing prices for single-family homes are usually around $200,000 to $350,000, while a handful of fixer-uppers may be available for $50,000 to $70,000. Dotting the leafy landscape with narrow country roads, most houses are spaced closely together and have small yards. However, some properties that occupy the higher end of the price range can have lots that are over 2 acres. Multi-family properties are usually around $200,000. The community is also car-dependent, and not many streets have sidewalks.Public parks and recreation centers in Claremont
Home to several small pocket parks and green spaces, North End is also a short drive from the city’s recreational hotspots. Located right in the community, Barnes Park features play equipment such as swings, basketball courts and a baseball field. Located by the southern tip of the neighborhood, Riverside Park has an expansive open field popular for dog walking and a public skate park. Monadnock Park, which is across the Sugar River, offers even more sports fields for local youth leagues. The Claremont Savings Bank Community Center has year-round recreational lessons and is home to two indoor swimming pools, a walking track, a gymnasium and a fitness center. “The recreation stuff is all here,” Shibles says. “People can drive up to Ascutney Mountain for skiing; there are lots of RTV, mountain bike and rail trails, and there’s also the Connecticut River running through town for fishing or boating.”School Administrative Unit #6
