Suburban living in the city of Claremont
Bordering the Sugar River on its west and south sides, North End is a quiet community in Claremont. The neighborhood is home to the Valley Regional Hospital, a pocket park and many New England residences, making it a peaceful retreat for those seeking affordable homes in a tranquil setting. North End is also close to city amenities such as the recreation center, public parks, restaurants and retailers along major thoroughfares, as well as public schools. “The city is investing and spending more on building business and entertainment venues such as the Claremont Opera House so that it would become a bigger stop on the map,” says James Shibles, who is a Claremont local and a Realtor with Covered Bridge RE with 9 years of experience.

Single-family and multi-family Claremont homes
While most homes were built between the late 1800s and the early 1900s, homebuyers can occasionally find a few houses dating back to the 1700s. Common housing styles include Workers Cottages, ranch-styles, cottages, bungalows and New England-style homes, many of which are around 1,500 square feet. Listing prices for single-family homes are usually around $200,000 to $350,000, while a handful of fixer-uppers may be available for $50,000 to $70,000. Dotting the leafy landscape with narrow country roads, most houses are spaced closely together and have small yards. However, some properties that occupy the higher end of the price range can have lots that are over 2 acres. Multi-family properties are usually around $200,000. The community is also car-dependent, and not many streets have sidewalks.
