Active Clarksville neighborhood on state line
Tucked in the far northern reaches of Clarksville, alongside acres of farmland is the neighborhood of Crosswinds. A subdivision located off Tylertown Road, just below the Tennessee and Kentucky state line, Crosswinds features streets lined with neatly plotted traditional-style single-family homes. "I would say, overall, it’s an active neighborhood and people spend time outdoors during the summer months,” says Brandon Easton, a leader for the Elite team at Sweet Home Realty and Property Management, who formerly lived in Crosswinds. Activities here can range from strolls or bike rides to kayaking along the Red River. And “It’s a very family-oriented community,” adds Marcia Campbell, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker, who’s also made several sales in this part of the city. Many new homebuyers have been drawn to Crosswinds for their school district. Having recently been re-zoned, students in Crosswinds are now eligible to attend the newly constructed Kirkwood area schools, about 14 miles south of the neighborhood. This re-zoning, Campbell believes “is also really going to help the area's home values.” Just south of the neighborhood, the 420-acre industrial facility run by LG, the global electronics and appliance manufacturer, offers potential employment opportunities; and Crosswinds' location just east of Interstate 24 and Trenton Road affords it convenience.

Crosswinds has many homes with build dates from the 2010s, complete with prominent vinyl exteriors. Brick and stone veneer foundations are also common. Modern Traditional makes up the common architectural style, but smaller houses with Craftsman designs, like bungalows, exist in some pockets. Narrow walking paths along the streets provide walkways for residents. Some homeowners along the state line back into dense groups of tall and mature trees. Most houses here have footprints of 1,700 to 2,300 square feet and price points can run from between $300,000 and $370,000. There are a few outliers, like houses exceeding 2,500 square feet which can go for just under $450,000.
