Desirable Clarksville neighborhood surrounded by destinations

Ellington Chase occupies an area once home to a horse track and the neighborhood honors that history through distinct street names like Ellington Gait Drive and Carousel Court. This narrow subdivision is one of several suburban pocket communities located along Rossview Road, an area of Clarksville that has experienced a lot of growth since the late 2000s. “This is a very desirable area. People want to be off Exit 8,” says Marcia Campbell, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker, who’s made several sales in the area. The Ellington Chase neighborhood is also conveniently only 2 miles down the road from a trio of schools and several popular recreational destinations. From bowling nights and golf outings to exploring lush woodlands or a prehistoric cave, the options are many in Ellington Chase. “It’s just the convenience of the location. The lots are a little bigger. There’s a pretty big variety of homes with a lot of cul-de-sacs,” says Marion Jewell, a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty, who’s sold in the neighborhood. “And it really appeals to older folks who like to walk when the park is closed, and, of course, you’re 10 minutes from the mall. This is a prime example of ‘location, location, location.”

Modern Traditionals with additions and a few creative twists

Ellington Gait, the main road that cuts through the neighborhood, is lined by row after row of modern Traditional style homes. Built during the 2010s, these houses feature both brick and vinyl design elements. Narrow walking paths allow for easy strolls, while the neighborhood's children can enjoy sunny weekends on their bikes. Ellington Chase features a little more stylistic variety than several of its neighboring subdivisions, with distinct touches like stonework and shiplap. Major additions, like in-ground pools, are also common. Many houses in the community have footprints of 2,000 to 3,000 square feet and price points can range from $350,000 to about $520,000, depending on factors like size and additions.

From late night bowling to prehistoric lessons at Dunbar Cave

Whether they’re looking for outdoor getaways or indoor weekend entertainment, Ellington Chase residents don’t need to travel far. The nearby Pinnacle Family Entertainment Center is usually packed on weekends with many making reservations ahead of time for one of its 32 professional bowling lanes. The venue also hosts cosmic bowling nights and both league and tournament play. Children and teens can explore the arcade's video games, while poker players can participate in weekly tournaments. A short distance west of the neighborhood is the 144-acre Dunbar Cave State Park, which features prehistoric cave-drawings by Mississippian Native Americans, who believed the park’s grounds to be a gateway to the underworld. Residents can take a guided tour of the caves, or explore the park's 3 miles of scenic nature trails. The park borders the 55-acre Swan Lake Park and Sports Complex, which features a pool, facilities for both softball and tennis players and an 18-hole golf course. The neighborhood is also a short walk from the 50-acre Civitan Park, which has multiple baseball and softball fields and eight batting cages for practice. Children enjoy climbing and running across the complex’s prominent playground fixtures
