Farmington
Modern Traditional houses with distinct perks
Series of modern two-story Traditional style homes line Farmington’s streets. Brick exteriors are prominent, but other build-materials like stucco, stone and vinyl are also common. While homeowners pay lower taxes due to their subdivision being outside of Clarksville proper, they still have access to city water and sewer. Farmington's housing options can be categorized into two groups: the original builds and the newer secondary builds, each with their own benefits. One perk of the original phase homes— which includes all of Edgewater Lane and part of Remington Trce — is that they come equipped with natural gas for needs like heating and cooking. Houses in the original phase also occupy larger lots. On the other hand, prevalent wood or vinyl fencing provides residents in the newer homes with a true sense of backyard privacy. Most homes in Farmington have a footprint of more than 2,000 square feet and price points can run between $450,000 and $700,000, depending on size. In addition to the area's catch-and-release fishing options, Farmington also boasts loop trails around their neighborhood ponds.Zoned for trio of new Kirkwood schools
Prior to 2024, younger students in Farmington attended Rossview Elementary School, which receives an A-minus from Niche and ranks it among the top 10% of best public elementary schools in the state. The school is also a recipient of the Tennessee Purple Star School Award, which honors campuses that undertake significant efforts to serve military families. Starting in Fall 2024, students living in Farmington will now attend the new Kirkwood Elementary School. While older children and teens are slated to attend the Kirkwood Middle School and Kirkwood High School, which both opened within the past few years and are currently unrated.Few miles from staples like Old Glory Distilling and Thirsty Goat
Nearby Interstate 24 allows residents to quickly travel toward either the Sango area to the south or Wilma Rudolph Boulevard to the north, both of which are home to a number of local staples. “Within 5 minutes, we can be on the interstate, 2-miles from whatever restaurants we want to be at,” McMillion says. Housed in a brick industrial building just off the Wilma Rudolph exit, the Old Glory Distilling Co. is a favorite for whiskey tastings. The venue also recently opened a restaurant serving options like hours-long smoked brisket and fried chicken. Patrons also enjoy live music performances and can play games outside on the weekends. In the Sango area, the Thirsty Goat is a favorite for craft beers, coffees and artisan pizzas. Patrons can enjoy their food and beverages inside or head outside to the beer garden. Colorful murals adorn the business’ walls, including a flower-themed one with the message “Keep Sango Social” painted in the middle. And if nothing else, Farmington residents now are close to several fast-food chains along Rossview Road. “For picking up dinner on the way home from Nashville, you’ve got options now,” McCooley says. A Publix right off the Sango exit offers a grocery shopping option.Close to historically significant site and Civitan Park sports
Farmington sits west of the 30-acre Port Royal State Historic Park, where visitors can hike the areas many forested trails. Attractions here include a pedestrian truss bridge and, most importantly, a section of the historic Trail of Tears. Farmington is also a short distance from Civitan Park on the other side of Interstate 24. The 50-acre park’s playground comes complete with both tall and smaller slides, canopies to provide some shade on hot days and a short climbing wall. The park is a destination for both youth and adult sports and serves as the home of the St. Bethlehem Little League. The sports amenities include more than 10 baseball and softball fields and eight batting cages for young players to work on their swings.Community July 4th, Kiwanis Rodeo and Christmas Market at neighboring church
During the summers, many in the neighborhood head to one of the catch-and-release ponds to celebrate the Fourth of July. “Surprisingly in Clarksville, that’s very rare,” McMillion says referring to Farmington as one of the few subdivisions in the area that organizes annual events. The subdivision also neighbors the Montgomery County 4-H Arena, which hosts the annual Bill Hoy Kiwanis Rodeo in May. This more than 30-year-old tradition raises funds for the Kiwanis Club of Clarksville’s children's programs. The nearby Christ Lutheran Church ELCA on Kirkwood Road hosts annual festivities like the German Christkindlsmartkt, or Christmas Market. Marketgoers can browse crafts from several dozen vendors and try out German food. The event also puts on live music and features attractions like winter-themed decorations.I-24 commute route to Fort Campbell and Nashville
Farmington is a short distance east of Interstate 24, the main route for commuting to Nashville to the south and Fort Campbell to the west. The military base, which supplies the Clarksville area with many of its residents, is about 20 miles west of Farmington. “It’s very close to Exit 8. For people that work in Nashville, that can be advantageous to them,” McCooley says. The neighborhood is also about 9 miles east of downtown Clarksville. Just north of the neighborhood, Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville provides a major medical facility. Those looking to fly out of state go to the Nashville International Airport about 50 miles to the south.
