The central Countryside Northridge community is popular among families
Countryside Northridge is a centrally located, family-oriented community on the north side of Clearwater, the seat of Pinellas County. Quiet streets are lined by sidewalks and mature trees, from live oaks to royal palms. “North Pinellas is one of the more sought-after areas for families because the schools are good, there’s plenty of activity nearby, and there are a lot of three-bedroom, two-bathroom houses with garages,” says longtime local Mark Longenecker, a Realtor with Future Home Realty. “You’re approximately 20 minutes from the airport, 20 minutes from the beach and 20 minutes from shopping and dining downtown.” Residents are also connected to the city’s growing number of bike trails with a trailhead right in the neighborhood.

Three- to five-bedroom ranch-style houses on big lots in Zone X
This neighborhood was developed in the 1980s with Minimal Traditional and Spanish eclectic ranch-style houses. “There are more oversized lots there – not the standard 50 by 100 feet like tract builders are doing now,” Longenecker says. Floor plans range from three- to five-bedrooms, and prices roughly fall between $400,000 and $900,000, though sales data is limited with little turnover. Another draw to the neighborhood is its elevation, Longenecker says. Most properties in Countryside Northbridge are in a low-risk flood zone, making flood insurance optional. Coverage would be required for the few homes within the 500-year floodplain. Hurricane season runs from early June to late November. “The storms come and go, and so do the hurricane parties,” Longenecker says.
Countryside Northridge homes average in price from around $400,000 to $900,000.

Residents have a park and a gateway to many miles of biking trails at home
Country Hollow Park is a recreational area with an open field, paved walkways, picnic areas and tennis courts. The neighborhood is also home to the northern head of Duke Energy Trail, the newest section of the 75-mile Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail Loop. “You can go all the way down to St. Pete and up to Tarpon Springs, which is pretty much the whole county,” Longenecker says. The biking trails connect to various nearby parks, such as Countryside Community Park and Recreation Center, just 2 miles south. The amenity-rich hub is next to the local library and is often busy with youth sports programs.

Countryside Northridge is connected to major Clearwater roads
Although the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority has a few bus stops in the neighborhood on Countryside Boulevard, public transit is not commonly used in the area, says Longenecker. Residents are close to U.S. Highway 19 – one of Clearwater’s main north-south thoroughfares – and Curlew Road, a major east-west artery that goes into Tampa and runs just north of Tampa International Airport, 15 miles away. Mease Countryside Hospital, 2 miles away, is the closest hospital.
