“Suburban tranquility” and central Suncoast living in Clearwater’s Oak Acres Estates
Oak Acres Estates offers central Suncoast living minutes from Clearwater’s downtown and oceanfront. “It's a well-established, desirable neighborhood that people like living in,” says Brittany Wilson, broker and owner of Bayside Executive Realty. “I’d say the vibe… is like suburban tranquility.” The local elementary, middle and high schools are less than 5 miles from the community, as are shopping and dining options.

Midcentury houses with character outside of a hurricane evacuation zone
With only 15 homes sold in the past year, sales data in Oak Acres Estates is limited. Prices range from the mid $300,000s to the mid $600,000s for the neighborhood’s two- and three-bedroom ranch-style houses. “The homes were built in the 1950s and 1960s, so you get a bit of charm and character,” Wilson says. “...You may get that ‘homey’ vibe, seeing the mature tree-lined streets and landscaping.” A special flood zone encompasses three lakes in the heart of the neighborhood. Houses in that area, like those on Jeffords Street, Woodside Avenue and Estelle Drive, require flood insurance for a federal loan. That said, the community is not in a hurricane evacuation zone. Hurricane season runs from early June to late November.

Nearby shopping and dining at the beach and at home
Wilson says this neighborhood is close to one of America's top beaches. "So, there are tons of places to go, restaurants to eat at and things to do,” she says. Clearwater Beach’s sandy shores and lively shopping and dining scene are only 5 miles from the community, but for day-to-day outings, there are closer options on Gulf to Bay Boulevard, less than a mile away. It’s lined with chain and local eateries like Papa’s New York Diner, a 24-hour restaurant with a retro, 1950s theme, complete with a checkerboard floor. Gordon Food Service, the closest grocery store, is also on the boulevard, as is the nearest emergency care center, HCA Florida Clearwater Emergency. More casual shopping options – including Walmart, Bealls and Aldi – are just a couple miles farther down the road.
