Sunshine State suburb in southeastern Clearwater
Clearwater’s University Park is a classic Florida suburb, with rows of low ranch-style homes dotted with oaks and palmettos. The neighborhood is quiet, despite its proximity to State Road 60, known locally as Gulf to Bay Boulevard. The combination of calm and convenience draws homebuyers, according to Keller Williams’ Maryann Spearman, Realtor with over 15 years of experience in the region. “The subdivision is literally a stone’s throw from 60, which will get you to Clearwater Beach in 15 minutes,” she says. “It’s close to nice little parks, and schools are close by. This would be great for families, it’s close to everything.”
Broad, bending streets create a calm sense of community for neighbors in University Park.
University Park residents take pride in keeping their landscaping neat and trim.

A hot market for midcentury single-family homes
Homes here were built between the 1950s and ‘60s. Many have attached garages and large, front-facing windows overlooking neat, minimally landscaped lawns. Prices start at about $300,000 and go up to almost $600,000. Homes on more than half an acre of land can sell for as much as $734,000, but those are rare. Regardless of size, University Park homes tend to sell faster than the national average of 46 days. “It’s a hot market right now,” Spearman says, noting that recent listings here are usually under contract in less than a week.
Many University Park homes have garages with broad driveways.

State Road 60 and U.S. Route 19 provide quick access to the metro
Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority bus stops line Belcher Road, but Spearman says proximity to State Road 60 and U.S. Route 19 make driving so easy that most residents commute by car.
