“Just hop in your golf cart”
Kings Ridge is an active 55+ community that emphasizes the “active” part. The neighborhood on Route 27 just south of downtown Clermont has three pools, two exercise rooms, and two golf courses at the namesake Kings Ridge Golf Club. If the tennis, bocce, pickleball, and basketball courts prove too physically demanding, the hot and cold tubs, sauna, and steam room might provide some much-needed relaxation. Several dozen clubs and activities have been established by and for residents to keep busy while living here. With all the buzz on campus, it’s still easy to get things done without going too far. "If you're in Kings Ridge and you're getting too old, you could have a golf cart, and you can legally take your golf cart to Publix, and they've got special parking just for golf carts," says Realtor and Kings Ridge resident Michael Stich with Watson Realty Corporation

Easygoing ranch houses
All of Kings Ridge's 2000+ homes were built in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Each home in this gated community follows a single-story ranch layout, with some variation from home to home. For example, a house with a pitched roof and a front-facing three-car garage may be next to a Mediterranean-inspired home with a red tile roof and an arched main entryway. Open floor plans are common and many homes have had updates since their initial build. "You can see how well everything's maintained: everyone's lawn is cut at the same time, everybody's edges are trimmed, so there's nothing out of place," Stich says. The neighborhood consists of 15 subsections, each with its own associated fees and access to amenities. The Whitehall section of Kings Ridge features homes situated on an angle on smaller lots, with tucked-away entrances and curved driveways. Homes in the neighborhood cost around $300,000-$600,000, with pricier homes having more bedrooms. HOA fees are $300-$500 monthly.
Kings Ridge homes are primarily contemporary single family.

Onsite golf course, state parks beyond
Besides the onsite recreational spots and golf course, Legends Golf Clermont is another golf option with tournament capacity and weekly league meetups across the street. Hancock Park is one of Clermont’s most widely used parks and is home to the Clermont Girls Softball League. The nearby Clermont Arts & Recreation Center is a space where residents can rent rooms for meetings and social events, participate in community art and fitness classes, reserve the theater for banquets and performances, or hold team practices in the gymnasium. The center is open to the public, and rental rates vary with preferred rates given to City of Clermont residents and nonprofits. Kings Ridge is less than 2 miles from Lake Louisa, the largest in a chain of lakes connected by the Palatlakaha River. The Palatlakaha River Park & Boat Ramp at the lake’s north bank offers the opportunity to hike around the wetlands and sail the connected lakes. Lake Louisa State Park to the south has thousands of acres for picnicking, camping, hiking, fishing, and canoeing.
