Cleveland’s Jefferson neighborhood attracts a diverse mix of families and professionals looking for affordable housing and a central location close to downtown and Lake Erie. Jefferson is part of the larger West Park area of Cleveland, which also includes the Kamm’s Corner, Riverside and Bellair-Puritas neighborhoods. "Calling this area Jefferson is more of a formality," says Realtor Kristina Morales of eXp Realty. "You may also hear this area referred to as West Park or even Kamm's Corner, depending on where you're looking."

Homes in Jefferson include modest, two-bedroom bungalows and ranches and larger Foursquares built between the 1920s and 1950s. Houses sit on small lots separated by private driveways leading to detached garages in the backyard. "The housing is definitely at a price point where people can achieve home ownership," says Morales. Morales says Jefferson's big attraction is its location, emphasizing how commuters can get around easily. "You're able to get downtown in 10 minutes or to the airport or Lake Erie in 15 minutes," she says. "You can get to the trendy neighborhoods really quickly, too." This convenience is largely thanks to Jefferson's proximity of Interstates 90 and 71. The neighborhood is also serviced by Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority buses and rapid transit trains, which take locals downtown and to surrounding areas in the city. Redevelopment plans for Lorain Avenue
The Cuyahoga County Planning Commission created a Lorain Avenue Businesses District Plan in December 2022. The core of this project involves restoring and reopening Variety Theater, an abandoned, 1,900-seat venue built in 1924. The property was bought in 2022 with plans for reinvestment. The commission hopes to draw small businesses and new apartments to the area to create a lively, pedestrian-friendly centerpiece for the neighborhood.
