Local restaurants within walking distance
Middle Village offers an eclectic mix of local restaurants within walking distance of established suburbs. “There’s 73 different languages spoken in Clifton, it’s a very diverse community with restaurants from every country,” says Jose Perez, a Realtor with Howard Hanna | Rand Realty, who’s been a Cliftonite their whole life and has been selling homes in the area for over eight years. What used to be farmlands was converted into suburban communities with the arrival of the Lackawanna Railroad in the mid-19th century. Located just 12 miles from Manhattan, the neighborhood is close enough for daily commuting while still maintaining its small-town vibes.
Shopping and dining along Main Avenue
Middle Village features a slew of multicultural restaurants and shops along Main Avenue. Local restaurants include Istanbul Cafe and Restaurant with traditional Turkish cuisine, Master Pizza for pies and El Mexicano Tapas & Tequila serving Mexican favorites. “You have to try the Mexican sampler that has a mix of chicken quesadillas, wings, chicken flauta and nachos,” says Perez. Residents can stop at Aldi along Lakeview Avenue for essentials, while Istanbul Food Pazar sells a variety of Middle Eastern products. Gamers can visit Digital Press Videogames, a popular local shop with thousands of classic and current-gen games, a mini museum with rare items and monthly community events.
