Varied housing styles and plot sizes in East Clinton
East Clinton has homes clustered along State Route 61 and out into a rural landscape awash with oak and cottonwood trees. Some of the area’s Minimal Traditional-style homes date back to 1930s and 40s, though most homes were built in the 1990s and 2000s. These ranch-style builds, Cape Cods and Colonial Revivals are scattered throughout the area. New construction is popping up close to the neighborhood’s commercial strip, where New Traditional homes sit much closer together than in the rural outskirts. Those seeking privacy and room to spread out can find sloping plots of up to 10 acres southeast of Route 61. Otherwise, most people have between a half-acre and a full acre to park recreational vehicles and enjoy uninterrupted stretches of grass. The neighborhood also has a few communities of manufactured homes.Prices typically range between $200,000 and $500,000, with manufactured homes occupying the lower end. Northwest of Route 61, there are a couple subdivisions of four- and five-bedroom homes where prices can span $650,000 to $800,000. “When you look at purchasing a home on the river versus South Knoxville and Farragut, it’s a big price difference," says Jerri Bottom, a broker with Realty Executives Associates who used to live in the area. "There’s a lot more bang for your buck in Anderson County.”
