Rodeos, car shows, and the 4-H Fair

Clovis has a variety of events throughout the year, like Draggin’ Main. For one week in June, the city is filled with the sounds of muscle car engines revving, motor enthusiasts cheering, and live music playing in the evenings. Clovis also hosts seasonal rodeos and a 4-H fair at the Curry County Fairgrounds, about 2 miles away. "The 4-H Fair is big, the kids get to show off their livestock," says Dawne Armstrong, a Qualifying Broker with YOUR 1st CHOICE 4 REALTY and Clovis resident. The rodeo, called Pioneer Days, rides into town every May and invites the city to watch bull riding, team roping and barrel racing. "THere's something going on all the time, you just have to know where to look," says Armstrong. First Methodist Church is next to the neighborhood and offers afterschool and summer latchkey programs for school-aged kids.
