Edelweiss Gartens
Traditional brick homes at great prices
Traditional brick homes file along sidewalk-lined streets throughout Edelweiss Gartens. House prices throughout the neighborhood are consistent with homes in surrounding communities, typically ranging between $300,000 and $400,000. “There are some rental properties mixed in, but most are owner-owned,” says Celina Schultz, a real estate agent with Keller Williams Brazos Valley who has lived in the Bryan/College Station area for over 50 years. She continues to say that the neighborhood’s proximity to Texas A&M brings in Aggies from all walks of life. “It’s also not far from campus, both from a student and staff standpoint,” Schutlz says. “I think it’s a blend of students, staff, families and young professionals.”Students attend highly-rated College Station ISD schools
Kids in Edelweiss Gartens will likely head to class at Spring Creek Elementary School, followed by Pecan Trail Intermediate School, both of which received A grades from Niche. Seventh and eighth graders attend Wellborn Middle School, which has an A-plus grade and offers an array of arts programs, including theater and dance, as well as an athletics program with everything from track and basketball to football. A-plus-rated College Station High School, home of the Cougars, is just minutes away from Edelweiss Gartens. When it’s time to get out for some fresh air, residents head to Edelweiss Gartens Park. Parents take their kids here to traverse the playground and play catch in the park’s field. Creek View Park is just a few minutes away and part of the 3-mile-long Lick Creek Greenway trail that snakes through College Station leading to Lick Creek Park. However, morning joggers and dog walkers frequent the neighborhood’s sidewalks for their daily exercise.Wellborn Road and getting around College Station
Traveling to the central areas of College Station is as easy as hopping on Wellborn Road or taking the William D Fitch Parkway to State Highway 6. “Most people that live here either work here or work remotely. Some people drive to Houston, but I’d say it’s a small percentage,” Schultz says. Residents have an easy route to Texas A&M through Wellborn Road, and Highway 6 provides a straight path to Bryan, set 12 miles away. Houston is 92 miles away, and proximity to Easterwood Airport allows for commercial travel throughout the state.Try the best big burger in town at Koppe Bridge
Wellborn Road is lined with shopping centers, restaurants and local businesses. A local staple since 1992, Koppe Bridge Bar and Grill claims "the best big burger in town,” although the chicken fried steak is a fan favorite, too. On the opposite end of Wellborn Road, Yole’s La Familia Taqueria serves Mexican fare and a buffet during lunchtime. Weekend brunch is popular at Hullabaloo Diner, a popular spot for comfort foods served in a classic diner atmosphere. Bustling Northgate is only 6 miles away for an eventful night out, and downtown Bryan is 11 miles out.
