What buyers love about Piney Grove
Access to Lake Harding is one of the perks of living in Piney Grove, a rural community tucked between the recreational charms of the lake to the north and the urban bustle of Columbus to the south. The country community only has a handful of gathering spots, most notably its namesake, Piney Grove Baptist Church. In addition to lake access, secluded residential homes and the well-rated Harris County School District keep people living centered in this longstanding community.

What homes are available in Piney Grove
Inventory is low across Piney Grove, and only three homes sold in 2025. Much of this is due to the area’s increasing popularity, according to Realtor Tyler Ward with Coldwell Banker Kennon, Parker, Duncan and Davis. “People like how close they are to [Lake Harding], and the houses are a little more spaced out here,” Ward, who grew up in Harris County, says. “And Harris County schools bring many people to the area.” Ranch-style houses are commonly seen, with log-cabin and New Traditional homes also in the mix. Most homes are set back from Highway 219 and Goat Rock Road on spacious lots surrounded by pine woods. Land prices are around the mid-$70,000s, and houses range between the mid-$400,000s and $700,000s.
