Wynns Hill
Neighborhood in Columbus, Georgia
Muscogee County 31906
A park-like neighborhood part of MidTown's historic districts
The neighborhood was largely developed in the 1920s, when architects created a park-like community with curved streets lined with oak, pine and magnolia trees. Many homes feature in-ground pools and entertainment spaces in their backyards. "Homes here were typically built a little larger and are on slightly bigger lots than other areas," Cannella says. "Because of this, homes are priced slightly higher than surrounding neighborhoods, but it's still an economically diverse area." Buyers will find stately Neoclassical Revival homes with double balconies, classic Colonial Revival homes and whimsical brick Tudor Revival homes. There are also postwar Cape Cods and midcentury bungalows available. Homes here typically cost between $250,000 and $400,000, but some of the neighborhood's larger Neoclassical-style homes and midcentury bungalows cost between $500,000 and $600,000.Close to Lakebottom and Dinglewood Park
Wynns Hill is just 1 mile from Lakebottom Park, one of MidTown's most popular green spaces. The park offers shaded walking trails, tennis courts, a running track and a playground. "There are stroller clubs, Peach Little League games, people walking their dogs or going for a run. There's always something going on at Lakebottom," says Realtor Alison Cox with Keller Williams River Cities. Cox has been a real estate agent for nearly 20 years. "There are also a lot of events there." Cox mentions the MidTown Get Down, a family-friendly festival, a Halloween Spooktacular, and the Lakebottom Park 5K race. The neighborhood is also close to Dinglewood Park. The park is primarily used for its nine-hole disc golf course but also has a few picnic areas and birdwatching spots.
