Glenmeadows offers a settled feel with longtime homeowners
With established homes, sidewalk-lined streets and a close-knit community of longtime homeowners, Glenmeadows offers a settled, low-turnover neighborhood on the edge of Far East Columbus, next to Reynoldsburg. Buyers are drawn to its midcentury homes, roomy lots and location between the city and suburbs, where shopping, dining, parks and other amenities are all a short drive away.
Homes in this close-knit, low-turnover community sell fast
“Glenmeadows is one of those neighborhoods that you move into and stay forever,” says local Ashley Todaro, a Realtor with The Brokerage House. “There’s a certain number of homes, and they very rarely come on the market.” Compared to city and national averages, houses here sell pretty quickly, which can make competition feel steep. Recent sales have ranged from the mid-$200,000s to the low $300,000s.
You’ll mostly find midcentury single-family homes here, such as Cape Cods, split-levels and ranch styles – many raised to accommodate ground-floor garages. Houses here aren’t uniform, so updates vary from one property to the next.
Lots here are bigger than the city’s average, offering grassy front lawns and deep-set backyards, often fenced in. Mature trees, from tall oaks to weeping willows, shade yards across the community.
Most residents here own their homes. There are some rentals available across a couple of apartment complexes. “It’s a really great community,” Todaro says. “They all keep in touch with each other and communicate often.”

School options vary by address and enrollment policies
The neighborhood is split between two school districts. The southern side is more often served by Columbus City Schools, with neighborhood assignments leaning toward Olde Orchard Elementary School, Sherwood Middle School and Walnut Ridge High School. The district offers a lottery-based application for its magnet and alternative programs, and open enrollment can allow transfers within and between districts, depending on space and policy.
Homes on the northern side of the neighborhood are more likely to fall within Reynoldsburg City Schools, which may include Rose Hill Elementary School, Waggoner Road Junior High School and Reynoldsburg High School. Reynoldsburg generally assigns students based on where they live and does not offer interdistrict open enrollment, though families may request transfers within the district.
