Scioto Audubon Metro Park has boat access and an obstacle course

Karns Park is close to highways, public bus access and The Ohio State University

The nearest highways are Interstate 70 and U.S. Route 33, just north of the neighborhood. Downtown Columbus is less than 3 miles away, and Ohio State University’s main campus is about a 15-minute drive north. Public transit is available through the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA), with several bus stops along East Whittier Street and Parsons Avenue. Regular sidewalks make the area reasonably walkable.

Columbus celebrates its heritage with Oktoberfest and Red, White and BOOM!

Columbus has celebrated every Oktoberfest every fall since 1965. The festivities include a biergarten, polka bands and events like the Bavarian stone lift. Red, White and BOOM! observes Independence Day with the biggest single-day event of the year, welcoming over 400,000 people for musical performances, fried food and a fireworks display after sundown.
