Dog walkers and a community park in Olde Sawmill

A northern suburb of Dublin, Ohio, Olde Sawmill has a strong neighborhood connection, with plenty of gathering places for its active community. “People are out walking their dogs and waving to people,” says RE/MAX Achievers Realtor Andy Whiteman. Sidewalks connect the late 1900s homes to a large park and ¬and Dublin’s nightlife is just a few miles away. Residents can participate in seasonal events organized by the Olde Sawmill Civic Organization. The Columbus Zoo and a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course are also close by.

Olde Sawmill Park and storybook friends at the Northwest Library

While large yards provide some space for outdoor activities, Olde Sawmill Park — situated next to the elementary school — is a nearly 9-acre space with a wide-open field for kids to run, a playground and picnic tables. The Northwest Library, also within the community, has a children’s area filled with sculptures and paintings of beloved storybook characters. The library stays open until 9 p.m., and locals can come by to study, take language programs or get computer help. There are pickleball courts and a cricket pitch at Emerald Fields park, just across Sawmill Road. World-class golfers come to the Muirfield Village Golf Club, about 6 miles from Olde Sawmill. The private 18-hole course was designed by golf great, Jack Nicklaus, and Golf Digest named it among the best golf courses in America. The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is also less than 5 miles away.
