Why commuters and families appreciate this wooded neighborhood
Just off Sawmill Road, Sawmill Forest is a woodsy suburb with access to some of the area’s most popular amenities. In addition to some of the best public schools in the area, locals can choose from a wide range of entertainment, shopping and dining options, often within walking distance. Its lower property taxes and proximity to several job centers also make the neighborhood practical for both commuters and families.
How local home values compare to nearby Dublin and other areas
Sawmill Forest lives up to its name, with mature trees and generous green lots that are often a quarter-acre or more. Most homes follow a contemporary New Traditional style and typically sell from the mid-$300,000s to the low $500,000s, while condos in the area usually fall in the mid-$200,000s. The median price for a single-family home tends to land in the low $400,000s, which is higher than neighborhoods like Smoky Ridge Estates, Western Hills and Worthington Green, similar to Olde Sawmill, but lower than many parts of Dublin. Although the neighborhood benefits from Dublin’s schools and shopping, it also qualifies for Columbus property tax rates. “It’s more affordable while getting all the amenities of Dublin,” says Chris Shea, a Realtor with Keller Williams Consultants Realty. “It’s the best of both worlds.”
Bi-level homes are common in the neighborhood.
