A forested suburb 12 miles from Atlanta
Conley is a forested bedroom community surrounded by major highways, trucking companies and transportation industries. "It's so small," says Meyaka Burke, a local Realtor with Southside Realtors. "It gives you the rural feel but very close to the city." One of the draws of Conley is the affordability. Just 12 miles away in Atlanta, homes cost, on average, nearly $100 more per square foot. While residents can get to the city in 30 minutes, they have enough comforts close to home to stay put, including a range of restaurants dishing up soul food to Asian to Mexican fare. The second-largest park in the state and the world's busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, are both within 5 miles. The airport launches around 1,000 flights a day, making the sound of planes a pulse of daily life.
The real estate market in Conley offers a mix of single-family homes, townhouses, and manufactured homes in a forest setting.
Southside Park is a sports-centered park and the second largest park in Atlanta.

Soul food and international eats on Georgia 54
An outlet mall and various local restaurants are just west along Georgia 54, including Rays Southern Foods and John's Fine Food for soul food. Pho Dai Loi and Kawa 18 Ramen are popular for their classic Asian noodle soups garnished with fresh herbs. Tacos Acapulco is a fast-casual food truck serving authentic Mexican fare. JB's Billiards & Bar and The Station ATL are go-to's for drinks with friends in the evenings. International Discount Mall has niche stores like Cerrito Western Wear and Zane' Candle Company, where locals can also take candle-making workshops. Downtown Atlanta and the communities of Morrow and Forest Park — where there’s a Food Depot for groceries — have more options no farther than 6 miles away. "You're within 15 minutes of all the major shopping — Atlantic station, downtown, all the entertainment and museums. All the stuff that Atlanta has to offer," Burke says.

Southside Park is getting a new baseball complex
Major city parks are within 4 miles of Conley. Atlanta's second-largest park, Southside Park, spans over 220 acres to encompass ball fields and a 6-mile mountain biking trail. And in 2024, the city announced a plan to invest $4 million into creating a new baseball complex at the park that will be large enough to host Morehouse College games. Locals can hike along the trails and boardwalks crossing over marshland at Constitution Lakes Park. A section of the trail is famous for its plastic doll art installations that visitors can add to, if they like. The 3-mile trail system at Reynolds Nature Preserve offers another place to meander under tall trees. Clayton County International Park is an 11-mile drive, but it hosts a free Sip and Sounds concert series during the summer.

Older homes with a new feel in Conley
"There are a lot of older homes that are completely renovated here," says Jenny Caceres of Century 21 NUWAY Realty, a Realtor of over 20 years. "You can find houses below $300,000 and get three bedrooms, two baths, about 1,200 square feet and up." Conley has a small slice of new construction, but most homes are from the 1960s, '70s and early 2000s. Colonial Revivals and ranch styles are common, but there's also a selection of townhouses and manufactured homes. According to Burke, lot sizes tend to be modest, but many properties back up to wooded lots, allowing people to wile the day away on their back porch in privacy. Prices range from the mid-$100,000s to the mid-$300,000s for single-family homes, depending on extent of renovation and build year; from $80,000 to $125,000 for townhouses; and from $68,000 to $80,000 for manufactured homes. Residences surrounding Conley Creek are more prone to flooding than other areas of the neighborhood. Parts of Clayton County flooded and lost power due to downed trees during Hurricane Helene in 2024.
The majority of houses in Conley were built between the 1960s and early 2000s, offering a mix of architectural styles.
Manufactured homes in Conley are located in designated communities, offering budget-friendly housing options.
