Cove offers open space and mountain views in northern Cache County
Cove is less of a town and more of a collection of farmland in northern Utah's Cache County, just a few miles from the Idaho border. Its golden grain fields and green dairy cow pastures sit under the scenic peaks of the Bear River Range of the Southern Rocky Mountains. "It's not so out of the way of amenities, but it's a real slice of the countryside," says Realtor Donald Mendenhall with Equity Real Estate, who's been selling in the Ogden-Cache County area for almost 20 years. Schools, supermarkets and spots to eat are a short drive away in neighboring towns like Richmond; Cove itself is open plains and dramatic mountain views. "If you're moving out here, you want space from neighbors and everything else," Mendenhall says.
Route 91 connects Cove to Richmond, Logan, and Idaho.

Ranch properties and farmhouses with acreage
Cove's median single-family home price is $950,000. Homes typically come on lots with multiple acres. These large tracts of land are usually for agricultural purposes, often grain and dairy farming. A ranch-style home on over 5 acres in Cove's small town center can cost around the median. However, ranch-style homes without acreage can start around $400,000. Some large farmhouses with acreage have popped up in the fields outside town. They're made to look old, but their modern interiors show they were built in the 2010s. They've been on the market for about $1.2 million.
Cove has many options for properties with or without expansive acreage.
Farmhouse‑style homes with acreage in Cove can approach $1.2 million.

Hiking and skiing in the Bear River Range
The Bear River Range of the Southern Rockies towers over the east side of Cove. So, naturally, hiking and skiing are the main activities here. Cherry Peak Resort is a popular local slope, just 6 miles southeast, outside Richmond. The resort offers day and night skiing. During the summer, hikers can traverse the valleys and ridges to the east. Doubletop Mountain, the second-highest peak in the Bear River Range, is directly east. Standing almost 10,000 feet at its summit, Doubletop requires an extensive hike. Those attempting the climb are advised to do it between June and September, when there isn't too much snow. Cub River Sports Complex caters to less extreme recreation, with its baseball and soccer fields hosting local youth leagues between Cove and Richmond.
The Uinta Wasatch Cache National Forest safeguards seven designated wilderness areas, adding layers of protection and pristine landscapes to explore.
