North Pocono School District serves the area. The district is home to several elementary schools: Moscow and Jefferson elementary schools get A-minus grades and North Pocono Intermediate School, which is actually another elementary building, scores a B-plus. Both North Pocono Middle School and North Pocono High School earn B-pluses as well. High school students can earn dual enrollment credits via Lackawanna College in Scranton.

The village center in Daleville provides a handful of shops and restaurants for residents. ShopRite has groceries. Ace Hardware, Gold Crown Jewelry and Ethical Clothing are also available in the small shopping center here. Kay’s Daily Grind serves coffee while Kay’s Italian Restaurant serves cuisine from southern Italy. Country Café serves classic diner breakfast and lunch dishes. For additional options, residents can head to Scranton or make the roughly 2-hour trip to Philadelphia or New York for countless choices.
Town-wide events and Eagle Lake exclusives
Township-wide events include a children’s fishing derby, a Christmas Open House at the Moffat Estate mansion, an Easter Egg Hunt and a spring cleanup event. For Eagle Lake residents, the Community Association puts on events as well, such as cocktail parties at certain holidays, comedy and talent shows and a “Christmas in July” golf cart parade.
Interstate 380 connects Covington to Scranton and beyond
Interstate 380 runs through the western portion of the township, while Pennsylvania Route 435 passes through Daleville toward Moscow and the Scranton area. Philadelphia is about 120 miles south and New York City is about 110 miles away. The Wilkes-Barre Scranton International Airport is about 17 miles away from Daleville. Public transit isn’t available in this area, so residents will likely require a vehicle. Scranton’s Commonwealth Health Regional Hospital is about 14 miles away.
