Outlying Austin enclave

With newly built homes, quick access to natural amenities and proximity to downtown, Southeast Austin is an area that's on the rise. The outlying area of Austin is about 11 miles from the downtown areas and about 5 miles from Austin-Bergstrom Airport, comprising of several unincorporated communities offering a variety of housing options. Residents in this area have convenient access to some of the city's best parks, including Richard Moya Park, McKinney Fall State Park and Onion Creek Metropolitan Park. Residents have easy access to major roads, making for an easy commute, and gives residents the convenience of living on the outskirts with many amenities close by.

Abundance of housing options

The southeast area of the Austin metro area is split into several unincorporated communities and newly developed neighborhoods that provide a wealth of housing options for prospective residents. There are some homes for sale, but it is primarily a buyer's market with single-family homes and condos for sale. There is an abundance of newly constructed homes in the Easton Park neighborhood, with prices that can range between $400,000 to $900,000 for spacious homes that stretch over 3,400 square feet. Cozy three-bedroom homes in the McKinney Heights subdivision are priced in the high 300s. Newly built condominiums in Easton Park can be priced between $400,000 and $430,000, many with spacious floor plans.

Travis County parks

Residents have quick access to some of Travis County's best outdoor amenities. Centered by a historic bridge and lined with towering oak and pecan trees, Richard Moya Park has 92 acres of outdoor recreation, with several multi-use fields, courts and shelters available for reservation. McKinney Falls State Park is a popular camping spot in the Austin area, with dozens of campsites available in addition to 9 miles of multi-use trails and access to Onion and Williamson creeks. Springfield Neighborhood Park is nestled along Onion Creek, allowing for various lakeside activities.

Easy access to the Austin metro area

With Highway 183 to the east and Interstate 35 to the west, residents can easily get around the Austin metro area.

Nearby schools

Many school-aged children will be zoned to the Del Valle Independent School District. Some students will start their academic journey at Creedmoor Elementary School, which has a C rating on Niche and offers various programs, including a Fine Arts department and an afterschool program. Next is Ojeda Middle School, which also has a C grade on Niche and a student-teacher ratio of 14-to-1, followed by Del Valle High School. Del Valle High has an overall B-minus grade on Niche, offering a college and career center that helps students with college applications, admissions, trade schools and certifications, among many other resources.

Entertainment, shops and local dining

Since most of the communities in the area are residential, there are few dining options and shops close by. Some options along Highway 183 include Drinks Backyard, a neighborhood watering hole with a comfortable vibe and expansive patio space. Residents can get their groceries from JD's Supermarket along Farm to Market 812. For some weekend fun, watch a thrilling race at Circuit of the Americas, a racing venue that hosts Formula 1 and Grand Prix motorcycle racing events throughout the year.
