A rural town near shopping centers

With a population of approximately 872, Crystal Springs retains a small-town atmosphere in the countryside. While surrounding areas have commercialized, Crystal Springs has remained under the radar, preserving its history and undeveloped land — its wetlands were once the hunting grounds of the Indigenous Seminole people. Full of open fields and canopies of trees, Crystal Springs allows residents to feel immersed in Floridian nature. Despite its rural setting, an abundance of stores and restaurants are nearby in Zephyrhills. Crystal Springs residents can liven up their daily routine and connect with their neighbors during Friday night auctions or invite friends to celebrations at a local community center.

Simpler homes on large lots

Northeast of Tampa, Crystal Springs is composed of farmlands and single-family homes. “People move there because it’s more of a country area and is secluded. There’s more land and acreage,” says real estate agent Edie Diana Baker who works with Keystone Property Consulting Firm and has four years of experience in the area. Towering pine trees and moss-covered oaks shade lots that can extend to multiple acres. From grazing cows and horses to barns, the town has its rustic charms, although the dusty roads wind through swampy landscapes prone to flooding. Common with rural areas, Crystal Springs doesn’t have sidewalks and is a car-dependent community. As for architecture, the styles include farmhouses, modest ranch-style houses and manufactured homes. An RV Park offers more temporary living. Sales prices range from $130,000 for a cottage to $500,000 for a log cabin on 6 acres of land. “It’s an upcoming area, but it’s more affordable right now,” Baker says.
