About Cutler Bay, FL

About Cutler Bay, FL

Live by the water in Cutler Bay

About 23 miles south of Miami, Cutler Bay may still be part of Miami-Dade County, but it feels like its own world. “It doesn’t feel like it’s in Miami,” says real estate agent Diego Ramos with Modern World Realty. “There’s a big boating culture here, and families drive around in golf carts when going to other people's homes.” Cutler Bay is close to Black Point Park and Marina, where locals can head out on the water or dine in at the restaurant there. On land, there are shopping malls and great schools with programs focused on the ocean. In Cutler Bay, the water is everything.

Black Point Park and Marina boasts a jetty that extends 1.5 miles into the bay for fishing. Boaters can use the launch to access Biscayne National Park, Elliott Key and Sands Key. Diving is also common here. On land, there are paths for walking and biking, and locals can find plenty of spots to picnic. Lakes By The Bay Park is 45 acres with three baseball diamonds and four batting cages. Kids can play on the playground, which features covers to protect them from the sun. Locals can explore the aquatic life from the canoe and kayak launch or register for the monthly kayak tours that start in the park. Cutler Ridge Park offers a pool and athletic fields and hosts several local athletic leagues, including soccer, football and water polo.

Coastal ranches and townhomes in Cutler Bay

Most homes in Cutler Bay are ranches with a coastal feel, made from stucco and painted bright colors from orange and pink to blue and green. Sidewalks are lined with palm trees or oaks dripping with Spanish moss. Spanish Revival detached homes and townhomes are also available on the eastern side of the community, close to Lakes By The Bay Park. Houses have a mix of driveway parking and one-car garages. “Single-family homes will start in the 600,000s,” Ramos says. However, there is plenty of fluctuation with location and age. “There are places that have smaller homes built in the 70s, and there’s more recent construction built in the 2000s,” Ramos says. Townhomes in Cutler Bay list between $400,000 and $600,000.
