Public golf, youth sports, playgrounds and a movie theater are within a few miles

There are no parks in the subdivision, but several can be found within a few miles. To the west, TimberCreek Golf Club has three par-36 courses and is open for public play. Spirit Park has ball fields and tennis courts with lights. Kids Park, formerly called “The Fort,” has swings, slides and a jungle gym, with a distinct area for children 5 and younger. To the east, Loxley Municipal Park has disc golf, baseball and softball fields and a playground. The nearby Premiere Cinema 14 Eastern Shore shows the biggest Hollywood blockbusters. City Hope Church, less than 3 miles away, has monthly outreach opportunities and a disaster response team.

Easy highway access and a short drive to Downtown Mobile, with hurricane concerns

The community sits off U.S. Highway 90 and has easy access to Interstate 10. It is around 15 miles from Downtown Mobile and about 30 miles from Mobile Regional Airport. Pensacola is close to 50 miles east. Thomas Hospital Emergency – Malbis is less than 3 miles away and offers 24-hour care. Hurricanes can impact the area, causing downed trees and power lines. It also gets a lot of rain each summer, which usually arrives in short but frequent downpours.

Plantation Hills is close to restaurants like Tulum Mexican Cuisine, an upscale eatery with a decor centered around wood, stone and plants. Briquettes Steakhouse uses locally sourced beef and cooks its meat over briquettes, or compressed blocks of charcoal dust. Rise Breakfast & Tacos covers its interior in pop culture stickers.
