Fejervary Park and Centennial Park lead the way with their sheer size and breadth of amenities. The land for Fejervary Park was gifted to the city by the count's daughter. The 75-acre property had been his estate, but it was demolished after his death in 1895. Today, the Fejervary Family Aquatic Center welcomes families to its sprayground, water slides, playground and shaded picnic areas. In winter, the park’s hills offer sledding. Young kids head to the Fejervary Learning Center, with nature-based activities presented through traditional nursery rhymes. Centennial Park’s 250 acres faces the Mississippi River and draws crowds to its BIX Jazz Festival, Quad City Marathon and the bi-state St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
