Exploring the little library at Woodland Park
On the western side of the community, kids can walk to Woodland Park's playground. A path, mainly used for walking and biking, winds through the park's 17 acres, which also includes a soccer field and basketball court. Woodland Park also has a free little library out front. Just east of Woodland, Jewett Park has a skatepark and an outdoor ice-skating rink in the winter. Ravinia Green Country Club is 3 miles east. Along Park Avenue in downtown Deerfield, the Deerfield Farmers Market’s stands sell local produce, baked goods and fresh-cut flowers on Saturday mornings. For the Fourth of July, Deerfield celebrates for two days with the Deerfield Family Days festival, with parades, amusement rides, carnival games, a market and fireworks. Harvest Fest in September has cornhole tournaments, a car show and live music throughout downtown.
