The Oaks
Suburban Neighborhood in Delray Beach, Florida
Palm Beach County 33496
Three communities, distinct personalities
“The gated communities here are new and very popular with affluent families,” says Isaac Klein, a broker with Klein Morgan Realty LLC, who lived in The Oaks for four years in the 2010s. Homes in each subdivision vary by their architectural signatures. The Oaks, the namesake community, is the oldest, with homes built in the early 2000s. They primarily have the Mediterranean style with wide or looping driveways and multi-car garages. Lotus features primarily contemporary structures all built in 2018 or later, with large windows, flat roofs, and a mostly white and gray color palette, along with stone or wood accents. Boca Bridges is the stylistic medium, with Mediterranean and contemporary styles coexisting. “Buyers are attracted to the luxury of these communities,” says real estate agent Veronica Peters with Premier Estate Properties Inc. “They offer top-of-the-line amenities, including pools, tennis courts and on-site restaurants, and don’t require equity memberships, which can get very costly.” The smallest homes have three bedrooms and 2,600 square feet. Home prices range from $1.3 million-$5 million. HOA fees are about $500 monthly at Lotus and $1,000-$1,100 monthly at The Oaks and Boca Bridges.South County Regional Park a short drive away
While many residents may choose to do recreational activities at their respective community centers, Pinewoods Park is a public green space just outside the neighborhood. The park has a playground and three lighted baseball diamonds. Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park is a massive complex less than 5 miles away with a 27-hole golf course, a water park, a lake for boating and fishing, and the Daggerwing Nature Center. The center has an exhibit hall with live animals and interactive displays. A boardwalk path takes visitors from the center through a wetland forest ecosystem.Olympic Heights High’s on-site preschool
Children in The Oaks can attend Whispering Pines Elementary School with an A-minus score on Niche. Eagles Landing Middle School, which also has an A-minus, serves Grades 6 through 8. Olympic Heights Community High School has an A rating. The school has an Early Childhood Education Program and on-site preschool that helps prepare students for careers in the field. Not far from the beach
The Oaks is accessible to Highway 441 on its west side and Florida’s Turnpike to the east. It is about 8 miles from Interstate 95 and about 10 miles from the beach. The closest passenger airport is Palm Beach International, less than 30 miles north. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is also nearby, about 30 miles south. The nearest hospital is the West Boca Medical Center, about 6 miles away.Italian groceries at Joseph’s Classic Market
Two Publix locations are near The Oaks. The Delray Marketplace and Plaza Delray shopping center, about 3 miles away, are home to dozens of entertainment and dining options. Olive U Mediterranean Grill is a local fast-casual chain that follows the assembly line model. Customers can choose a base, protein and toppings to create their custom bowl or order appetizers like hummus or falafel. Next door, Joseph’s Classic Market is an Italian grocery store that sells hand-butchered meats, freshly baked pastries, and more. Lucille's Bad to the Bone BBQ serves pork ribs by the half rack in their signature sauce. The restaurant serves more than pork: their highlighted dishes, marked in red on their menu, include a buffalo chicken melt and a chopped beef brisket barbecue sandwich. Town Center at Boca Raton is 7 miles away and features more than 200 stores.
