Homebuyers drawn to Robson Ranch’s 100-plus clubs and activities

Homebuyers from across the U.S. seek out addresses within the gates of Robson Ranch to spend their golden years exploring the 55-plus community’s activities and clubs, which range from woodworking to wine tasting. In fact, some residents learn to pace themselves after they first arrive, says Joanne Horst, a Realtor with Keller Williams Dallas Metro North who specializes in Robson Ranch and lives in the community. “The attraction is you can be as active as you want or as inactive as you want. So many people come in, and they want to try so many things. Later, they have to back off because they try too much.” The lifestyle in this master-planned community draws so many from across the country to North Texas that residents have formed clubs based on the states they came from, including Colorado and Michigan.

An expanding number of small neighborhoods make up Robson Ranch

The community was built in phases starting in the early 2000s, with each phase a miniature neighborhood within the community. For example, shade trees grow alongside Craftsman-inspired homes in The Woods, while New Traditional houses with Tudor features back up to the golf course in The Grove. Organizations within these sections often put on events, such as band concerts in a common area. Home construction continues, with open land to the north for new phases. “This [community’s development] has been going on for almost 25 years, and they’re going to go another 20 years,” Horst says. Recently, most homes have sold between $330,000 and $720,000. Houses larger than 2,500 square feet can cost between $725,000 and $1.5 million.
Robson Ranch’s CAP Index Crime Score is 1 out of 10, much lower than the national average of 4.

Locals can get social at the Wildhorse Golf Club, creative arts center

Robson Ranch’s 100-plus clubs and activities are often based out of one of the community hubs, such as the Cimarron Sports Club and the Creative Arts & Technology Center. The community is building eight bocce ball courts, which will join 16 pickleball courts and six tennis courts. An enclosed lap pool and a fitness center allow locals to get active indoors, too. Residents can also work out their creative side at the ceramics studio and wood shop. “You pick what interests you,” Horst says. “It’s what you want it to be.” Residents may have to pay a few dollars to join leagues and groups, but the amenities are largely included in their HOA fees. One exception is the cost of rounds at Wildhorse Golf Club at Robson Ranch, made up of three nine-hole courses open to the public.

A growing number of businesses nearby in Argyle, Northlake

Residents can grab breakfast and lunch within Robson Ranch at Wildhorse Grill, where a patio overlooks the community’s fairways and rooftops. Coffee and doughnuts are across the street from Robson Ranch at Donut Space. There are more eateries in the nearby cities of Northlake and Argyle, which Horst says “have blossomed” with new restaurants serving cuisine from Mexican to Italian. The closest grocery store is an Albertsons that’s 10 miles away in Denton. However, a Tom Thumb is slated to open less than 5 miles away in spring 2026. Supermarket chain H-E-B plans to build a store about 2 miles away, but the opening date has not been announced.
Two miles down the road from Robson Ranch, Medical City Denton Hospital has an emergency room, orthopedic specialists, physical therapy and more. Nearby, St. Mark Catholic Church holds an annual Oktoberfest, where an all-you-can-eat menu includes brats, sauerkraut and potato salad.

Events include farmers market, chili cook-off

Every Friday morning, ranchers, bakers and jerky makers come to the Farmers Market at Robson Ranch Denton. The community hosts many annual events organized by the HOA. Home cooks compete in a chili cook-off in the spring, and residents dress up for a three-course meal at the holiday gala in December.

Access to Denton and Fort Worth via I-35W

Interstate 35W is just down the road, enabling drivers to cruise to Denton, about 10 miles away, and Fort Worth, about 30 miles away. It’s nearly 30 miles to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, one of the nation’s most-used airports, with direct flights to more than 250 destinations.
