Deer in the backyard
Ewing Woods-Evergreen is a small, walkable and densely wooded neighborhood off U.S. Highway 69 4 miles southeast of Des Moines. Despite the rural setting, Ewing Woods-Evergreen offers convenient access to all the amenities of Iowa's largest city. Wide-open suburban streets with maple tree saplings and oaks lining the medians cast shadows over the well-maintained sidewalks and manicured front lawns. "It's a very peaceful neighborhood," says Realtor Donna Levering with Keller Williams, who has sold several homes in this community. "Just outside your door, you might see deer, owls, lots of wildlife."
