Des Moines suburb convenient to nearby parks and entertainment
With its proximity to a variety of parks, shopping and entertainment, the residential suburb of Meredith “offers residents a unique blend of suburban tranquility and urban convenience,” says Rich Montanaro, a real estate agent at The American Real Estate Company with more than nine years of industry experience. Situated approximately 6 miles northwest of Downtown Des Moines, residents here have quick access to the nearby communities of Urbandale to the west and Johnston located just north of the neighborhood. Meredith is also home to the Lovington subdivision, where students are zoned for the highly rated Johnston Community School District, which receives an A score from Niche.

Lovington subdivision homes feature large front lawns
On the neighborhood’s southern side, homes are lined in even rows, making for an intimate suburban setting, while homes in the more northern Lovington area often feature large front lawns. Winding residential streets are shaded by looming black walnut and oak trees, and those driving through can find lots of well-maintained front lawns and manicured landscapes. Homes here reflect a mix of contemporary split-levels and ranch-style homes, as well as New Traditional residences that feature gabled roofs, vinyl facades and simple compositions. A handful of Cape Cods and bungalows also dot the neighborhood, and many properties in this area include attached garages and paved driveways. Homes can range in price between $180,000 and $340,000, with a median price of $265,000.
