Lower home prices near historic Grandmont
Located in the northwest corner of the city, the district is laid out on a traditional street grid with rows of homes that date back to the early and mid-20th century. Colonial Revival styles, cozy cottages and Tudor Revival style homes with steep-pitched rooftops and asymmetrical designs can all be found here. You’ll also see some Craftsman homes with their hallmark wide porches and thick columns. Large- and mid-sized lots are common here, so you’ll have plenty of room for landscaping, gardening or a backyard barbecue. Prices typically range from around $75,000 to $175,000, although some homes in need of major improvements have sold for $30,000 or less. “It’s great because you’re near the historic district of Grandmont, but you’re getting a lower price,” Evans says.
