Historic trends and trendy history

Woodbridge is one of Detroit’s most historic neighborhoods; indeed, this district has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1980. This community was named for the farmstead of 1840s Governor William Woodbridge, atop which the community of Woodbridge developed during the 1870s; Woodbridge has since evolved from a Victorian village into housing for World War II defense industry workers and recently into a trendy, artistic enclave.
