Loma Rica
Buyers look to Loma Rica for large lots
The size of the lots draws buyers out of Marysville and Yuba City to Loma Rica. “Most people have big properties,” says Kathryn Springsteen, a Realtor with eXp Realty of California and a resident of Loma Rica. “A lot of people have animals and fruit trees or olive trees on their land.” Often, multiple acres separate properties. Some buyers purchase lots with plans to build a custom home, selling from $80,000 to $350,000 depending on acreage. “You can't reach out for a cup of sugar because there is so much acreage between you and the next property,” says Rhinehart. Turn-key properties in Loma Rica sell from just under $500,000 to nearly $1 million, depending on the size of the home and its property. Most of these homes are older, having been built 30 years ago or more, and are typically Modern Traditional style.Kids attend Marysville Joint Unified School District
Marysville Joint Unified School District serves the neighborhood. Kids may start school at Loma Rica Elementary School, graded C by Niche. From there, they may go to Foothill Intermediate School, graded C. Marysville High School, graded B-minus, is one of the first three public schools established in California. Marysville High’s curriculum has changed since the days of the Gold Rush. The school now works to get help all students become career and college ready.Driving in Loma Rica

While Loma Rica is primarily residential, it has a few shopping and dining options clustered around Loma Rica Road. “It’s nice for small errands or if you just need a few things,” says Springsteen. Gold Eagle Market, a family-owned grocery store, has all the basics, and there is also a Dollar General. Locals also have a few dining options close to home. Mi Ranchito serves up authentic Mexican dishes to go. Pizza Round Up, a small NorCal chain, serves made-to-order pizzas and other classic American dishes like burgers and chicken wings. More extensive shopping and dining can be found in Marysville or Yuba City.Neighborhood hiking and nearby lake
Loma Rica does not offer much in the way of parks within the neighborhood, but there are a few hiking trails leading up into the foothills, such as the Daughtry Hill and Quail Valley trails at the eastern edge of the neighborhood , which lead farther into the foothills.
