Try walking to shops, boutiques and destinations
The community and much of Durham are full of restaurants, from breweries and coffee shops to bars and sit-down diners. "You can walk to the farmers market and do your weekly shopping,” Hock says. “The number of restaurants in Durham itself is phenomenal, and most of them are quite good. You would be walking for coffee or dinner, or music and entertainment. The Durham Food Hall features 10 restaurants, two bars and plenty of space for parties. You can get your morning coffee at Cocoa Cinnamon and catch up with friends at Bull City Burger and Brewery. Walking, biking and driving around town
Central Park is made for people who like to walk along paved sidewalks shaded by tall oak trees. “It's terribly convenient,” Hock says. “I’ve lived in that area since 1996. You’re very close to major highways, like the Durham Freeway and Interstate 85, but also it’s so walkable that you tend to walk or bike a lot. I think that’s what people like.” Raleigh is about 25 miles away using the freeway, but the Raleigh-Durham International Airport is closer, about 14 miles away.
