This neighborhood is next to one of Durham’s largest employers

Filling the blocks west of Duke University, Erwin is a neighborhood that puts residents steps away from all the action on campus. This lively community, home to students, professors and Duke University Hospital workers, is as diverse as its people. Hotels, offices and restaurants fill the space between a large network of apartments, condos and townhouses. Highway access draws in buyers looking for a commuter-friendly location. “If one member of the household is working at Duke and one is working at UNC Chapel Hill, it’s a happy medium,” says Jeanette Hussey, a Realtor with West & Woodall Real Estate and a lifelong resident of Durham.
