Egg Harbor Township is a township located in New Jersey, and it is home to over 43,000 residents. The area has experienced significant growth during the last few decades, as many homeowners have flocked to the town in search of favorable home prices. Many of the homes for sale are larger in size. The town received its name from the Dutch Explorer, Cornelius Jacobsen May. When he found the area, the river was covered with shorebird and waterfowl eggs, so he called in Egg Harbor. Today the region is a major transportation hub for New Jersey residents. A large portion of the Atlantic City Airport is located in the township. There are also nearly 300 miles of roadways throughout the area. Some of the major routes include the Atlantic City Expressway, US Route 9, CR 559, CR 563, CR 575, and CR 585.
Egg Harbor Township was designated as a growth area, and it is currently undergoing heavy development. Many buildings and houses are being constructed in the Pinelands area. Several of these homes are for single families; however there are also retirement communities. The town also provides beautiful paths for walking and recreation. The Atlantic County Bikeway is a popular path, and Storybook Land is a large park. Along with these attractions, many residents like to visit he Children’s Museum. Egg Harbor Township is also home to several different schools and a fire station. The town has a variety dining and shopping destinations, including Harbor Square. Several families live in the area, and many have young children. The larger homes and recreation make it an appealing place to live.
