Large lots close to local routes

Homes cluster around local routes on large lots throughout the township. Lots have a median size of 1.6 acres. Most housing is on low elevation, below the ridged areas of the rustic landscape. “If there’s lots of rain, people may get water in their basements, but typically inches, not feet,” says Elizabeth Wallen, the library director of Northern Cambria Public Library. In winter, there used to be power outages, but now it doesn’t happen as often, adds Wallen. Farmhouse, Colonial Revival, and ranch-style residences are common in the area, ranging from $60,000 to $185,000. The CAP Index crime score is a 2 out of 10, below the national average of 4.
