For some recreation close to home, head to Bunch Park, which is located on the White River, which feeds Lake Sequoyah. The park has a walking trail that loops around the park. U.S. Route 16 is the central route through Elkins and leads directly into Fayetteville. It's an easy drive into the city, thanks to Route 16, so residents retain easy access to the city while maintaining a rural sense of living. There isn't any public transportation in Elkins, so having a car is necessary for getting around.
